Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements: The Director of Labor Entrepreneurship (DLE) for the Kalamanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor will develop the Labor Center’s Labor Entrepreneurship Program, creating program areas through pilot projects in strategic partnership with organizations involved in rapidly changing parts of the economy. This person will oversee the formation of pilot projects, accessing and integrating resources within and outside the University, and coordinate research, development and implementation of these initiatives. The DLE will work with labor, employers and community organizations as an organizational incubator. This unique entrepreneurial program aims to tap the many sources of expertise at and connected to Georgetown to help worker-center organizations innovate in the context of major changes in our economy.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree with a strong track record of innovation and organization-building, as well as strong relationships within the labor movement. This person must be able to manage and integrate contributions from law, business, policy and other academic disciplines; must be able to understand both the competitive drivers of an economic sector, and the strategic concerns of labor in that sector; and must excel as a project manager. The ideal candidate should have strong real-world experience; an MBA, JD, MBA/JD, Ph.D. in Management, or similar qualifications are strongly desired.
