Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements: Georgetown University seeks an application team leader to deliver best in class virtual communication, on-line marketing tools, and rich interactive web environments that will serve efforts across academic schools, alumni campaigns, events, and University-wide initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to define an emergent application environment as traditional models for alumni relations management, prospective student and faculty recruitment, and research partners shift within a global, digital framework. The Director for Communications, On-Line Marketing, and Advancement Systems will provide the application vision designed to respond to emerging business needs for connecting communities, effectively gathering and leveraging market data, and extending the GU experience through virtual presences. This position will define an IT applications strategy and develop a roadmap that integrates innovation while maintaining security, sustainability, and resiliency. Enterprise application experience in the web content management area (Fatwire, Interwoven, IBM, Oracle, or EMC) and either donor transaction systems or enterprise level CRM (Advance, Millennium, PeopleSoft) systems are preferred. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree preferred in IT or Business related field; Master's Degree preferred/MIS/MBA +10 years experience in IT; 5-10 years experience systems management in an enterprise environment, web 2.0 marketing system experience preferred; Project management (PMP certification a plus). Core Application Layer Responsibilities: - Advancement (alumni) data systems and reporting environments - Marketing and CRM systems - Web application systems including enterprise level CMS in a multi-site environment, interactive web environments and analytics - Electronic communication and tracking systems Core Responsibilities: - Ongoing communication with all supported business and functional groups and stakeholders related to advancement, communication and marketing IT projects, enhancements, reporting, and operational metrics - Translate business process improvement ideas into projects ensuring adequate scope definition, estimating, and staffing; - Monitor industry trends and marketing application capabilities to influence and refine the marketing systems vision and applications development roadmap - Create Requests For Proposals and Statements Of Work to select world-class IT providers of software and development services - Ensure plans promote resiliency, sustainability, data security, and enterprise integration. - Application life cycle management including on-going change control, maintenance cycles, upgrades, and security controls - Lead project teams for new application integration or replacement o Business case, budget and project plan o Functional and technical requirements gathering, gap analysis o Vendor review and selection, System architecture and design, including system modifications o Implementation and operational management model o Document functional requirements for data systems and reporting environments, system architecture, and solution design, data flow against business processes o Ensure data standards and procedures are in place for ensuring data integrity.
