This Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs at the McDonough School of Business serves as a key liaison with the faculty who teach in the Undergraduate Program at MSB. The Assistant Dean is responsible for interfacing and collaborating with the faculty and other school and university administrators on curriculum oversight and development issues, including such tasks as the review and revision of the core program and scheduling/course management issues. This person will meet with faculty; work as a team member with the other staff in the Undergraduate Program Office; serve on campus-wide committees; and assist the Associate Dean with the planning and implementation of an assessment framework and strategic plan for the Undergraduate Program Office. The Asst. Dean may also work with faculty to assist with the coordination of case competitions, new curriculum initiatives, and the overall student advising process.
Requirements:
A MS/MA or MBA and at least eight years progressive experience (or Ph.D. and at least three years progressive experience) in educational administration, curriculum review and development, assessment and/or college student services, preferably in a business school environment. Teaching experience at the university level a plus, but not required as is experience in the student services area and involvement with any academic committees that deal with student issues.
Candidates should also have:
- Familiarity with and adaptability to modes of information technology.
- The ability to help develop and execute university- and school-wide policy decisions as part of an administrative team.
- Personal desire and skills to work effectively with advisors, faculty, and students to administer and improve the overall undergraduate experience.
- The ability to express oneself on a wide range of educational issues.
- Strong communication skills.
