Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements: This position of a research data analyst is requested for research projects funded by the NIH. General responsibilities will include preparing and coordinating activities for this project, collecting data, and assisting in data analysis. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the development of survey questionnaire, recruiting study participants, conducting telephone and in-person interviews, and coding and analyzing study data. Will also coordinate, finalize, and translate project materials—translating documents from English to Chinese and vice versa, including survey questionnaire; recruit project participants by recruiting Chinese-speaking patients in Chinese American primary care physicians’ offices; collect project interview data by conducting baseline and post-visit interviews in Chinese language and dialects; collecting audio-recorded data between doctors and patients during medical encounters; manage and analyze project data by transcribing (Chinese and English) and coding audio-taped data using RIAS system; creating survey databases; entering survey data; cleaning and managing study data; conducting statistical analyses. Master's degree in Public Health, Behavioral or Health Sciences, Communications, or other related programs with five or more years of research experience in health or health-related fields conducting statistical analyses, data management, and project coordination. Familiarity with Chinese American communities in the D.C. area a plus; Familiarity with U.S. health care systems; Familiarity with Asian American communities in the Washington D.C. area a plus. Bilingual (Chinese and English) and good at communicating with and writing in those two languages; mastery in word processing software; experienced in data management and statistical analysis using SAS, SPSS, or other related software. Excellent communication skills; good at team work; ability and experience in writing technical reports; detailed-oriented and excellent organization skills.
