Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements: The incumbent will assist in the management of the operational, personnel and financial activities of the Center and Division of Nephrology. Responsible for all communications and administrative related operations for the Center and the Division relating to research grant process and fundraising activities. Assist in broadening exposure of Center to the community and the University through newsletters and web development and updates. Responsibilities will include event planning: Planning and organizing research symposia/lectures and other monthly events; Inviting speakers, overseeing travel and lodging arrangements, scheduling and managing vendors while on-site responding to press requests. Publications: Overseeing web design and development of website for the Center, drafting and updating website as necessary; Disseminating and publishing communications relation to Center events and updates. Financial: Preparing and processing invoices, reimbursement requests and honorarium payments for all Center and Division invited guests, faculty and staff. General duties include filing and processing paperwork, drafting letters, making travel arrangements for faculty, answering phones, faxing and emailing materials; Other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in communications or liberal arts preferred with a minimum of two years experience in office administration, communications and event planning. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software and Microsoft Office including Power point and knowledge of Mac interface is highly preferred. Knowledge of NIH grant requirements and on-line submission process preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to multitask and a strong eye for detail and accuracy is expected and highly desired; Must be personable, persuasive and tactful when dealing with potential donors and press contacts.
