Alumni Relations (AR) Director, Regional Programs, is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive University-wide program with a particular focus on Alumni Clubs Program, assessment and design of implementation, domestic and international, establishment of consistent alumni training and volunteer development opportunities: maintains and develops relationships via regional clubs (with direct responsibility for one region for US alumni and the other for UK and European alumni), extending alumni reach through programming, communication and volunteer recruitment; develops and implements a sustainable model for effective alumni engagement and participation; oversees the strategic design, annual implementation and determination of measurable outcomes of key signature and other alumni events, to include John Carroll Weekend, aspects of Leadership Weekends, Regional Training(s) and Alumni Club Awards. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, managing the strategic plan and execution of the business plan to ensure continued success and growth of alumni relations programming; connecting alumni to each other and to the University via events and communication platforms; managing strategic planning and business plan to ensure continued growth of key metrics; supervise three staff members; managing operating budget; developing and implementing strategy to encompass and prioritize resources for 80+ alumni clubs to maximize alumni participation; developing special events strategy for signature events; and volunteer management and engagement; and serving as liaison to the Alumni Club Committee of the Georgetown University’s Board of Governors.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree; at least three years (though preferable five years) of alumni relations, fundraising, volunteer management experience or equivalent; preference for the following: event management knowledge, supervisory and project/program experience preferred, and experience working with volunteers and alumni relations. MS Office Suite proficiency; excellent written and oral communication skills; sensitive, personable and experienced in customer relations, and to motivate, train, and support volunteers; well organized and detail oriented; ability to successfully initiate, manage, and complete multiple concurrent priorities of varying complexity and urgency, while consistently meet all deadlines and goals; ability to assimilate and manage data, exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality, and work both independently and in a team environment. Willingness and availability work in evenings and on weekends, both local and on travel.
