Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements:	The Hoya Kids Learning Center is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join the staff of our Child Care facility. This position assists the Teachers in providing developmentally appropriate care and early education to children of Staff, Faculty, and Students of the University by creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children; conducting programs and activities that implement the emergent curriculum of the classroom; developing and maintaining mutually supportive relationships with individual parents that enable both parents and teachers to meet each child’s individual needs; monitoring and supporting each child’s individual development. This position assumes temporary management of the classroom in the absence of the Teacher and performs the duties of the Teacher only as needed. High school diploma required. Candidates should have interest in working in an environment with young children. Must have strong relationship and communication skills. Some college credits in Early Childhood Education (CDA, Associates Degree accepted) are required. Required computer experience to include email, internet research, and word processing; PowerPoint and digital photography knowledge desired. Experience working in a high quality early childhood program desired. CDA or equivalent required. First Aid and CPR certification are desired.
