Public Relations is a communications-based discipline that establishes and sustains positive relationships between an organization and the public that it serves. The Public Relations Certificate program provides students with the skills they need to cultivate these relationships, be it in the public, private, non-profit, or government sectors. At the end of the course, participants will know how to:

  • Identify and reach their target audience
  • Articulate communications objectives so success is measurable
  • Develop an overall PR strategy and message
  • Plan a public relations and/or media relations campaign
  • Create news
  • Write a press release
  • Prepare a media/information kit
  • Conduct media relations activities
To complete the certificate in Public Relations you must complete four required and any three elective courses.
