Course Description:

Lack of knowledge or skills in organizational policies and the application of relevant employment law effects employee motivation, productivity, and job satisfaction. In addition, inappropriate actions on the part of managers can result in serious grievances and law suits. The Employment Law in the Workplace class will:

  • Identify specific employment laws and ways to ensure compliance.
  • Identify the resources available to you.
  • Apply affirmative action and EEO guidelines.
  • Define jobs, and establish and evaluate performance standards.
  • Apply legal and human resources perspectives to common problems that will enable you to make sound and effective workplace decisions.

Learning Objectives: Identify and analyze the ethical and legal problems that can confront you in the workplace and derive better solutions to these problems.
