Course Description:

This is an advanced study of current ethical issues facing paralegals and their employers, particularly law firms and legal service providers. Different requirements among the local rules of professional conduct for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia will be explored. Topics will include confidentiality, attorney-client privilege, conflicts of interest, and the interrelationships of paralegal billing, client property, and lawyer trust accounts.

Completion of this course and Ethics Compliance for Paralegals results in a Writ of Completion in Paralegal Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
