Course Description:

Fraud in the government takes many forms including fraudulent financial reporting, misappropriation of assets, bribery, abuse of power and corruption. Forensic examiners need to learn common differences in techniques in the governmental environment. Students will develop an appreciation for the fraud schemes and slightly different requirements for a governmental forensic examination. Course Topics include:
  • Corruption and bribery
  • Government procurement
  • Abuse
  • Fraud schemes found in governmental environments
