Course Description:

This course emphasizes oral expression and comprehension. Through considerable practice, dialogues and role-playing, students will build the confidence necessary to express themselves with ease. From the very start, particular emphasis is placed on correct pronunciation, so that students will begin their study of French with an excellent grounding in this key area.

Grammatical points covered in French Introductory I include:

  • The present tense of regular verbs, and of étre (to be) and avoir (to have)
  • The use of adjectives
  • The expression of possession
