Course Description:

Writing is an essential part of public relations. In the Public Relations Writer, students will not only enhance the skills they already have, but learn how to improve their writing so that they can create public relations materials that standout from the crowd and grab the media’s attention.

Students will learn how to write strong press releases, how to create informative and visually appealing press/information kits, newsletters and copy for organizational Web sites and other materials that every PR specialist needs to master.

In addition, the Public Relations Writer will exam how to use the written word to express an organization’s thoughts and opinions in order to change perception.

*Please note: Students are asked to bring their personal laptops to class. They will be used for in-class projects and assignments, and learning how to improve and enhance written skills.
