Course Description:

This one-day, intensive workshop equips participants with the skills and tools they need to draft and edit effective online content, from e-mails to Web pages and blogs. Aided by expert coaching throughout the day, participants apply the course techniques directly to an online assignment of their choice.

Anyone who writes or is considering writing online content.

Format:

The workshop follows a fast-paced and goal-oriented agenda. Participants start the day defining their project and their audience. After design and layout exercises, participants finish the morning by drafting with a Web page or a blog post. The instructors then provide feedback on these drafts over lunch.

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to editing. Participants learn to use online style guides and editing checklists to ensure their online content will engage intended readers and motivate the desired response. After polishing their documents, participants join in a group critique that closes the workshop.
