Howard Byck

Howard Byck has held executive positions in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, where he has a proven track record in linking corporate interests in earning a profit to consumers' desire to affiliate with brands that embrace social causes.

Byck is currently Vice President of Business Development for AARP Services, Inc, the taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP is the leading nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people age 50 and over in the United States with 37+ million members. In his role, Byck is responsible for recruiting and managing multi-dimensional, enterprise-wide alliances with best-in-class brands that advance AARP's social impact agenda, delivers member value, and generates revenue to fund AARP's mission.

Prior to joining AARP, Byck was Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Corporate Development for Share Our Strength. Share Our Strength is one the nation's leading anti-hunger organizations having raised over $200 million to fight childhood hunger in the United States and abroad. The organization has won acclaim for its enterprising and visionary efforts in developing corporate cause marketing partnerships and groundbreaking work to help nonprofits create new opportunities and funds to support and sustain their efforts. Byck was responsible for developing and implementing innovative revenue generating initiatives including cause-related marketing partnerships, joint-ventures, licensing agreements, corporate sponsorship programs and fundraising events.

Before Share Our Strength, Byck was Director of Corporate Alliances for Walt Disney World. While there he managed strategic partnerships with high-profile global companies each of which had a substantial presence at Disney attractions or linkages with other corporate divisions and generated significant fee income. Byck worked closely with Walt Disney Imagineering, Disney's creative development team, to integrate corporate partners' brand messages throughout the theme parks and resorts.

Byck serves on the Board of Directors of Focalyst, a joint venture between AARP Services and the Kantar Group, the research insight and consulting arm of WPP, which provides businesses with research, analysis, and advice to enhance marketing, products and service initiatives for the 125 million members of the Baby Boom and Golden Generation. He also serves on the Board of The Heart of America Foundation, a national, nonsectarian, non-partisan nonprofit organization focusing on literacy and community service.

Byck earned his MBA at Rollins College while working at Disney and his BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Byck lives in Potomac, with his wife and three children.
