Tim A. Clary

Dr. Tim A. Clary, M.A., M.S., EMBA, PhD, is an infectious diseases epidemiologist who has spent the last several years working in international development with a focus on designing, monitoring, and managing large-scale public health projects. He is currently employed by Emerging Markets Group, Ltd. (EMG) as a Senior Manager and is also serving as a consultant for the United Nations for the Caribbean region. Prior to his employment with EMG, he worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for several years first as the HIV/Infectious Diseases for Europe and Eurasia and then, while posted at USAID/Kiev, he served as the Senior Advisor for HIV/AIDS, Infectious Diseases and Reproductive Health. Dr. Clary has also been employed as a researcher, educator, and journalist. He has worked for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and was an instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles where he won the 1999 Distinguished Teaching Award. Prior to his career in public health, Dr. Clary worked as a journalist; first, for the National Geographic Magazine and later for Sierra, the magazine of the Sierra Club.
