Jon Decker

Washington Correspondent -- Reuters Television Education: M.A., University of Pennsylvania; B.A., University of Pennsylvania

A native of Washington, DC, Jon Decker is an Emmy-nominated Washington correspondent for Reuters Television, the USA Radio Network and LBC Radio (London Broadcast Corporation). In addition, Jon is a regular contributor to CBS Radio, Reader's Digest and The Washington Times. He is on the faculty of both Georgetown University and Boston University where he is an Adjunct Professor of Broadcast Journalism and also serves as a Media Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

Jon's journalistic background is in political and business news and he has spent the majority of his career reporting on a multitude of stories. In the past 13 years, he has reported from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Geneva, Jerusalem, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Haiti, and Cuba. Since 1995, he has been a member of the White House Press Corps.

Previously, he served as a field producer for NBC in Miami, Washington correspondent for PBS Television's "Nightly Business Report" and as the host of PBS Television's "This Week in Business." He also was an aide to the late Sen. John Heinz (R-Pa.).

Jon received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and has received fellowships from the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, the Newspaper Association of America, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, the Poynter Institute, the Better Hong Kong Foundation, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism and the National Press Foundation.
