Adrion J. Howell
Adrion J. Howell has extensive legislative and political experience working for senior members of Congress on Capitol Hill and the White House. Adrion has worked in numerous national campaigns, most notably as a political and communications strategist for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at the Democratic National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., during the 1996 elections. He currently serves as Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson's principal lobbyist before the County Council, where he represents the executive branch on all legislative matters.
Prior to joining the legislative staff of Congressman Charles Rangel of New York, Adrion was selected as a White House Intern in the Clinton Administration, where he worked in the Office of National Drug Control Policy. While at the White House, Adrion independently covered Capitol Hill hearings that impacted pending drug policy initiatives designed to protect America's children from the drug epidemic.
Adrion has worked for some of the most ardent and vocal advocates of the disadvantaged in the U.S. Congress. While working on the legislative staff of Representative Charles Rangel, D-NY, Adrion played a pivotal role in drafting provisions of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act. Adrion has also worked on the Democratic staff of the powerful tax writing House Ways & Means Committee and has worked on the legislative staff of Representative Maxine Waters, D-CA.
Adrion is an honor graduate of Norfolk State University (cum laude), where he earned a B.A. in political science. Adrion is an accomplished writer and editor, as evidenced by his selection as the Editor-in-Chief of the Barrister Newspaper, the official newspaper of the Howard University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
