Jerry Schwarz

Jerry Schwarz started his English teaching career as a Peace Corps TEFL volunteer in Senegal, West Africa after earning his BA in Linguistics from UC Berkeley. He has an MA in Applied Linguistic Anthropology from American University, where he taught ESL at the English Language Institute for more than 25 years. He was an English teacher trainer in Italy as a Fulbright scholar and also in Senegal for the Peace Corps. He also spent two years in Barcelona teaching English at the North American Institute. An avid chamber musician and clarinetist, he is a founding member of the Dumbarton Chamber Ensemble, which performs regularly in the Washington Metropolitan area.
