The
Mom Congress initiative with
Parenting magazine creates a connection with moms and other parents across the country to share concerns, ideas, and celebrate successes in your communities.
Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS), the educational provider for Mom Congress has a strong commitment to education. Providing educational opportunities to a diverse community of students and professionals through a variety of programs and mediums solidifies our commitment. As the educational provider in this initiative, SCS is able to provide moms an opportunity to learn from leading education experts and advocates at Georgetown University.
Our RoleThe role of Georgetown University SCS as an education institution and the Mom Congress is to help you make a difference in your local schools and for kids nationwide. When it comes to your kids’ education, there is no shortage of work. Georgetown University will provide you with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to make a difference in your communities. The program offers moms various non-credit courses to build skills and knowledge.
To prepare moms for making a difference, SCS has developed non-credit courses and a Subscription Seminar Series teaching and discussing important mom, children, family, and work subjects and topics. Mom Congress scholarship award winners can apply their award toward the Subscription Series or Mom Congress Education Courses. Students and seminar attendees will be responsible for any travel and accommodation costs associated with the education program..
