Admissions Information
Students may apply year-round and begin the program during the fall, winter, or spring terms. They may apply for either degree or non-degree status. Students who have been out of the academic environment for a significant period of time, or who feel
that their grades do not accurately reflect their academic ability, may present relevant experience that relates directly to the proposed
program of study for consideration by the Admissions Committee. All applicants whose native language is not English or who have not attended an English-speaking undergraduate institution, must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
The Admissions Committee pays particular attention to the applicant's articulation of his or her interests, the suitability of our
curriculum to those interests, and the individual's ability to take initiative in designing a course of study. It looks at the applicant's record of achievement, goals for the future, and how the Liberal Studies Program at
Georgetown
University will help the student reach them. Applicants are encouraged to spend time familiarizing themselves with the courses, requirements, students, and enrollment options so that they understand what the program offers and how they would contribute to our learning community.
Each applicant is required to demonstrate motivation, academic potential, and ability to undertake work at
Georgetown
University by writing a personal statement describing his or her interests. Applicants are also required to submit official transcripts of all high school and college-level work and letters of recommendation. Applications are available at https://apply.embark.com/grad/GeorgetownSCS/89/.
In keeping with its long-standing tradition and policy,
Georgetown
University , in admissions, employment, and access to programs, considers students on the basis of individual merit and without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national or ethnic origin, disability, or other factors irrelevant to participation in the University.
