Introduction to Video Production

Course Description:

This course will equip students with the skills needed to communicate effectively in the medium of video. Students will learn techniques and aesthetics of photography, computer editing, basic script writing and segment producing. Students will learn the skills that will enable them to tell a story with a video camera, and have fun while doing it! Grades for the semester will be determined by quizzes, homework assignments, class participation, and video projects. Students will conceptualize, write, photograph, and edit several short "films", which will reflect the students' creativity and technical abilities as the semester progresses. These video projects will also provide a body of work for each student to utilize as resume material when they enter a professional video-production working environment.
