Course Description:

The goal of this course is for students to learn to write professional-quality op-eds and speeches. The course is divided into two parts, one dedicated to each type of document. Students will learn and practice appropriate techniques for various advocacy positions including those of business, government, political campaigns, issue-advocacy organizations, non-profits and others. Significant class time will be devoted to writing in a workshop environment with review by the instructor and other students. Students who successfully complete this course will be qualified to write speeches and op-eds for use in professional environments.
