Admissions Requirements
A baccalaureate degree with a GPA of 2.5 (preferred) or higher from an accredited four-year college or university is required for admission. An interview with the Director may be required. Applicants for whom English is a second language must submit a posted TOEFL score of 600 or above; 250 or higher for the computer based test. Please use institution code number 5986. If you are not a citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S., you must be in a legal, non-immigrant status for the length of this program. Georgetown University cannot issue any U.S. documents for attendance in the program. Please note that F-1 documents issued by Georgetown University for any other program are not valid for the Paralegal Studies Program. If you have any questions regarding visas, you may contact the International Student Advisor for Continuing Education in the Office of International Programs at 202-687-5867. All foreign transcripts must be evaluated to show the equivalency of a four-year US college degree, GPA, and course credits and grades received for each course. Evaluation services include, but are not limited to, World Education Services and Educational Credential Evaluators.

Certificate Candidates
(Evening and Summer Intensive)
- $35.00 application fee, non-refundable (payable to Georgetown University)
- Completed Application for Admission form
- Official transcript(s) of all college study posting degree(s)
- Current Resume
- Essay (minimum 300 words) explaining reasons for applying and stating career goals
- Two Recommendation Forms (completed and signed; only one can be from a personal reference
Non-Certificate Students
(Evening Only)
- $35.00 application fee, non-refundable (payable to Georgetown University);
- Completed Application for Admission form;
- Official transcript(s) of all college study posting degree(s);
- Current Resume
Prospective students interested in applying to the Paralegal Studies Program may apply online, or submit a print application packet.
There will be a $25.00 charge for any returned check. Once a non-certificate student successfully completes three courses, the additional application materials (essay and three recommendations) must be submitted and approved in order to qualify for further enrollment.
It is preferred that transcripts are sent directly from the university/college, and that recommendations come directly from the recommender. Recommendations can either be faxed or mailed to the Program's attention.
