Daniel Callahan is the quintessential non-traditional student. He entered college a little bit later than the average incoming freshman and you're not likely to see him walking campus with his iPod blaring. But the Bachelor's program has taken his education to a new level. Simply by adding Georgetown to his resume, Daniel landed a job at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington as an executive assistant and rose through the ranks to his eventual position as director of publications. Given his interest in sacred art, he naturally gravitates to theological and cultural courses, which inform him in ways that he can apply directly to his work.
Since becoming a student and beginning his tenure at the Cultural Center, Daniel has had many doors opened to him. He has been in the back rooms of museum collections at the Vatican, and elsewhere in Italy, and had the privilege of meeting Pope John Paul II several times. It is difficult to travel extensively, work full-time, and go to school, yet because of the flexibility afforded by the BALS program and the compassion and encouragement of his professors, Daniel has been able to do it all.
