M. Brian Blake

M. Brian Blake is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Computer Science at Georgetown University. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mercer University, both in Atlanta, Georgia. He has a Ph.D. of Information and Software Engineering from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. He has over 14 years of industry experience in projects related to object-oriented software engineering and autonomous distributed systems. He has consulted for such companies as General Electric, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and The MITRE Corporation. He has published over 80 refereed journal papers and conference proceedings in the areas of service-oriented computing, agents and workflow, enterprise integration, component-based software engineering, distributed data management, and software engineering education. His work has been funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, the MITRE Corporation, National Science Foundation, DARPA, Air Force Research Lab, SAIC, and the National Institute of Health.
