The Summer Hoya Staff is here to make sure that all students in our programs have a safe and enjoyable experience at Georgetown University. Cory Peterson, the Counselor Director, will lead the Summer Hoya Staff. Cory is assisted by Tony Manela, the Counselor Coordinator, and Bryan Kennedy, the Activities Coordinator. Cory, Tony and Bryan all have extensive supervision experience, at the high school and college level. Additionally, they assist in the counselor selection and training process. All Summer Hoya Counselors are Georgetown University students from a variety of academic disciplines within the university. The Summer Hoya staff live on campus during the summer, and are always available for questions or concerns that may come up over the course of your stay here on campus. They also ensure that you are aware of all program rules and regulations within the University community. All Summer Hoya staffers are looking forward to planning events, activities, and regional trips as you prepare for your arrival here at the hilltop.
Cory Peterson

Cory Peterson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah as an undergraduate where he received a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications. While an undergraduate Cory was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and worked full time as an Event Coordinator at a local non-profit organization. Before arriving as a member of the Residence Life staff at Georgetown, Cory graduated from Texas A&M University with a Masters of Science in Higher Education Administration.
When you don’t see Cory around the Residence Halls of Georgetown you can find him hiking or biking the Potomac trails. He also enjoys photography, going to the movies, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Tony Manela

Tony Manela worked as a Resident Advisor for three years at Duke University before graduating with his BA in May of 2007. During that time he also spent two summers as a Residential Counselor for Duke University's Talent Identification Program, supervising high school students taking classes at Duke. He is currently in the PhD Program in Philosophy at Georgetown University, where he studies applied ethics and social and political philosophy.
Bryan Kennedy

Bryan Kennedy is currently a senior at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and will be graduating this May with a degree in International Politics. Next Fall, he will be attending law school at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Bryan’s academic areas of focus include international law and justice & peace studies. During his time at Georgetown, Bryan has worked with a variety of community service organizations serving the underprivileged populations of D.C. While at Georgetown, Bryan also had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain for a year. Outside of academics and volunteer work, Bryan enjoys discussing politics and any sports related topic.
