Lisa Keathley, Assistant Dean and Director

As Assistant Dean and Director, Lisa designs and implements a strategic plan for the Career Development Center, including job search strategy education, employer outreach, and development of placement opportunities for international affairs students and alums from the six graduate programs within the School of Foreign Service. She assists students and alumni with issues arising in the job search, including career choice, resume preparation, targeting prospective employers, interviewing techniques, and negotiating compensation.

Lisa formerly served as a Distinguished Executive in Residence at George Washington University, where she developed a career program for graduate students in the School of Public Policy and Public Administration. Prior to her time at GWU, Lisa was Director of WORLDNET Television, an international television network now part of the Voice of America. Lisa became a member of the Federal Government's Senior Executive Service in 1994. She holds a Master of International Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. in journalism and speech communication from the University of Michigan.

Anne Steen, Career Counselor

As a career counselor, Anne's primary responsibility is to advise, counsel, and assist students in career exploration and job search strategies. Anne works closely with the CDC staff to develop and faciliitate career development and job search workshops. Anne is certified to administer and interpret career assessment tools such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory.

Prior to coming to Georgetown, Anne taught career counseling at George Mason University. She also served as the Associate Dean of Students at American University, overseeing eight departments, including residential life and housing, student activities, the counseling center, and the student health center. Anne holds an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Mary Washington.

Mary Ann Riegelman, Counselor-in-Residence

Mary Ann Riegelman serves as the International Development Counselor-in-Residence with the SFS Career Development Center, counseling students who have an interest in international development. She advises students, critiques resumes, and provides insights and job search strategies in the development field.

Mary Ann spent 26 years at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) as a democracy and governance specialist, an Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union expert, and a human resources manager. She directed USAID's Washington division for civil society and media activities in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. In her last assignment at USAID, she coordinated recruitment of Foreign Service Officers and managed USAID participation in more than 50 recruitment events nationwide. She holds a master's from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
