  • Georgetown's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies and its Center for Eurasia, Russian and East European Studies have both been designated as U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Centers.
  • The Center for German and European Studies was one of three "centers for excellence" (the others are at Harvard and Berkeley) founded in 1990 with the assistance of a grant from the German government.
