Standing Seminar in German History

Chaired by Roger Chickering, Professor of History, the Standing Seminar in German History provides a forum for graduate students and practicing historians in the greater Washington area to discuss current research and methodological issues.

The seminar, which has been running continuously since 1993, meets monthly for two-hour sessions to discuss draft manuscripts that have been submitted in advance by guest scholars from around the world; the list of past participants includes Rita Kuczynski, Wolfram Fischer, Kathryn Starkey, and Peter Hayes. Participation is normally by invitation.
