Doug Brock

U.S. Air Force

In addition to being an Associate at ISD, Major Doug Brock is a Foreign Policy Fellow with the US Air Force's Political Advisor (POLAD).  During his fellowship, he is focusing on Russia, the Former Soviet Union, and Counter-Proliferation.

Major Brock received his commission in 1996 at the United States Air Force Academy, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.  He most recently served in the US Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia as the United States Air Attaché to Croatia from 2006 to 2009. During this time the Government of Croatia entered NATO, initiated the acquisition process for an advanced fighter aircraft, and received the President of the United States for an official visit.  In addition to this regional area specialty, he previously worked in the Pentagon as a Political/Military Affairs Officer in the Defense Foreign Liaison Office.  His duties included working with many of the foreign militaries at their respective embassies.  During his time with the 16th Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Major Brock worked with many foreign militaries with exercise and real world operations in the Middle East, Africa, and South-East Europe.

The major is a senior parachutist with more than 1,000 military freefalls and more than 2,300 total military and civilian jumps.
