Human Rights Forum
ISIM has initiated a series of human rights events for visiting speakers, to be held on the Georgetown campus. This program is being jointly sponsored by the Advocacy Project, based in Washington, D.C. The broad goal is to encourage more discussion about human rights, and the rights-based approach to policy issues that are of interest to ISIM. As a result, special emphasis will be given to migration (forced and voluntary), and the human rights implications of complex humanitarian emergencies. ISIM will place special emphasis on attracting human rights campaigners. Every effort will also be made to encourage a debate between opposing views. An advisory group is being formed to provide direction to this initiative, and also identify potential co-sponsors for events. In the meantime, ISIM welcomes suggestions for speakers and topics that should be covered. Please send suggestions to Theresa Lawson at td12@bulldog.georgetown.edu
