Academic Advising

You should contact your dean's office soon after being admitted to Georgetown to begin discussing the courses in which you will enroll for the fall semester. Early registration is particularly helpful if you require taped or enlarged texts or sign language interpreters.

For freshmen students, preregistration takes place during the summer prior to entering Georgetown. The dean's office sends each student a packet of materials, including course descriptions and a list of required courses.

Many of the students with disabilities at Georgetown work closely with an assistant dean and/or an academic advisor throughout their four undergraduate years. A close, ongoing relationship with your dean's office will be beneficial in order to select courses and, if necessary, to discuss how to get special assistance.
