As of May 1, 2010, House Resolution 1298 has collected 25 cosponsors, but we need your help to make sure the House passes this resolution. We have a wonderful opportunity right now to lay the foundations for a more sustainable future. Help us take advantage of it. Please consider contacting your representative to help us gather Congressional support for this issue. Call your representative's office and use the following suggested script.
"Hi, my name is [full name], I'm a resident of [hometown, state], and I'm calling to ask Congressman/woman [name] to cosponsor House Resolution 1298, entitled "Encouraging efforts to reduce the use of paper and plastic bags." This is an issue I feel strongly about, and I hope the Congressman/woman, as my representative in Congress, will consider supporting this resolution."
