Join the Georgetown University Orchestra!

The Georgetown University Orchestra is open to all students and members of the local community. Membership is determined by auditions with the director at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.

***Auditions are held in September in New North Studio A. Sign up will be in Red Square (rainsite: Leavey Center) during the first week of the semester. Please prepare two contrasting pieces of your own choosing (one slow and one fast) and expect to play scales and sight reading selections of the Director's choosing. Notes on auditions from the Director:
The auditions will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Scales will only be requested if prepared pieces do not adequately demonstrate both technique and lyricism (fast/slow). If necessary, one should prepare this scales (although you should be able to play all major and minor scales): For strings- C Major, G Major, D Major, and A Major ; for winds- C Major, F Major, B-flat Major and E-flat Major.
