BACHELOR OF ARTS AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE PROGRAMS
VI. INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS
Interwoven throughout Georgetowns traditional department-based curriculum are interdisciplinary programs that take advantage of the breadth as well as depth of intellectual resources on the Georgetown campus. These popular programs are based on themes that cross departmental boundaries and reflect the emergence of significant new perspectives on human knowledge. They are the result of collaborative efforts by faculty from several disciplines to create programs addressing complex questions coherently from a common but multidimensional standpoint. In addition to the majors in American Studies, Medieval Studies, Political Economy, and Womens and Gender Studies, the College offers minors in African-American Studies, Catholic Studies, Cognitive Science, Environmental Studies, Jewish Civilization, Justice and Peace, Science, Technology and International Affairs, and Social and Political Thought.
The John L. Loeb Jr., Program in American Studies, endowed by Ambassador Loeb, offers a major in American Studies in the College. See the description of the major requirements in the American Studies section.
